The temple of 21 Taras

The supporting of body is the statues of 21 awesome-virtues Tara in the temple ofArya Tara.

In the 17th century, when Tenzin Ladje built the “Horse-necked Temple”, especially invited the master Penja Dewa to mold the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni made of golden and copper with the height as tall as one floor. As for the maker, molding the status of the main Arya Green Tara was the later generation of Penja Dewa. The statue is made of golden and copper, and its height is as tall as two floors. The statue was shipped by air flight from Nepal.

According to the text made by Jigme Linpa, the main honored one is as majestic and adorned as the others, his appearance is little different from the others, there is a dharma wheel above of the “utpala” as the symbol. His family dependants are with a face and two arms, their right hand gestures a “varada-mudra ”, and their left hand holds an “utpala”. There are some symbols meaning” the Four types of activities” above the “utpala”.

The mural paintings on the right and left walls are the Bodhisattvas of “All wishes be accomplished spontaneously” and “Clearing away the obstacles from the path” in the centre of the “Thirteen Instructions“ of Chojor Dechen Linpa’s termas.

The mural paintings in the front two walls are “the Three Roots ” of Jatson Nyingpo, including Guru, Yidam and Dakini.
